Tradition - The Cubs still suck after all these years
1) Cubs fans shouldn't think that 'this' years line-up is the
dream-team that will propel them into the World Series. DeRosa was
likely juicing in 2008 and Derrek Lee is a piece of shit. It should be
noted that Alfonso Soriano is considering a Geritol commercial.
2)
Cubs fans shouldn't think that stupid sing-a-long songs like, "Go Cubs
Go" and "When the Cubs Win the World Series" are cool. Further, Harry
Caray was the only one ever allowed to sing, "Take Me Out To The
Ballpark" outside of the seventh inning stretch. It's annoying enough
hearing Harry do it.
3) Cubs fans shouldn't think that
celebrities such as Bill Murray and Eddie Vedder are true Cub fans.
There is a certain marketability to being a fan of those loveable
losers. They only pledge allegiance because it helps them sell movies
and itunes.
4) Cubs fans shouldn't boast that chick Cub fans
are the hottest fans in baseball. It only proves the fact that hot
chicks love to have a gay friend.
5) Cubs fans should stick with
an actual Cub as a mascot and shouldn't think Ronnie "Woo-woo" Wickers
is a cool mascot. Anyone who has sat in his section for more than
three innings will admit to the headache created by his insesent
chanting of, " Cubs, WOO...! Big Z, WOO...! Cubs, WOO...!" If the
guy bagging your groceries at the supermarket acted out like this you
would complain to the manager.
6) Cubs fans shouldn't
believe that they are the most loyal fans in baseball. There are
several dynasty {real} teams that have more dedicated fans than the
Cubs, and it is tired hearing that Cubs fans are so loyal and true by
maintaining their optimistic attitude towards the on-coming season.
Quite the opposite, it is pathetic.
7) Cubs fans shouldn't
blame goat curses and dumb-ass fans for the team's historically dismal
performance. Though watching devotees such as Steve Bartman make it
fun to watch Cub games, the lousy players are the only ones truly to
blame for the year after year disappointment that are the Chicago Cubs.
8)
Cubs fans shouldn't think that they will win the Series this year. It
most certainly will not occur during the 21st century. Likely never.
